Biography:
Jessica Lau is a leader and engineer motivated by problem solving and creating cohesion in energy systems manager. She is Manager of the Grid Storage and Emerging Technologies Group at Xcel Energy. The team is responsible for deploying and operating distribution batteries and microgrids, conducting pilots and demonstrations of emerging technology, and constructing distribution infrastructure. Jessica has over 15 years in the energy industry, from bulk system planning at ISO New England to grid & renewables research at NREL. Jessica has a B.S. is Electrical Engineering and Math and a M.S. in Power Systems Management. She is the current Chair of the CIGRE USNC Women in Energy.
