The Female Leaders in Energy (FLIE) project is a cooperative partnership between the United States Energy Association and the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Energy Resources that aims to advance the next generation of female energy leaders in Southeast Asia.

The FLIE mentorship program will provide mentees with support to advance their energy careers and develop as female leaders in their organizations via quarterly virtual meetings, a specially designed learning and development program, six technical workshops, and a capstone project.

The program will welcome 30-45 participants across all disciplines of the sector.

FLIE Mentee eligibility requirements:

FLIE mentee applicants must be citizens and residents of the following emerging markets: Indonesia, Laos, Fiji, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.

Additional eligibility requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in the energy industry.
  • A track record of leadership and achievement in professional career or otherwise.
  • Professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Be willing to commit to the duration of the program from September 2021- September 2023.
