Jake A. Swanson
Jake A. Swanson serves as a Program Coordinator for USEA’s Energy Utility Partnership Program, which strengthens the capacity of utility executives and employees in USAID-assisted countries to effectively manage and operate power systems, run financially viable businesses, develop energy resources, design off-grid power sources, and integrate different types of energy resources into their power grids. He is responsible for planning and implementing partnership activities in Africa, Asia, and the United States, including training programs, workshops, conferences, and executive exchanges on clean energy and sustainable development.
Jake manages the Greening the Grid-India Partnership, the System Flexibility for Asia Partnership, and the Business Innovation Partnership. His role also supports EUPP's briefings, communications, and the Women in Energy series.
Jake holds a B.A. in Political Science and Environmental Studies from American University and is currently pursuing his M.S. in Energy Policy and Climate from Johns Hopkins University. Prior to joining USEA in July 2019, he interned for the Delegation of the European Union to the United States, CDP, and the United States Senate.
