Biography: 

As vice president, government relations, Justin Maierhofer leads an organization responsible for educating federal, state, and local elected officials and their staffs on TVA issues.  This group also interacts with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the office of Management and Budget, Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Energy and other federal regulatory agencies.  Additionally, Government Relations engages with the Electric Power Research Institute, Nuclear Energy Institute, American Public Power Association, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, Edison Electric Institute, State Chambers of Commerce and other organizations concerning TVA business matters.

Previously, Justin served as Vice President and Chief of Staff in the office of the Chief Executive Officer and served in this role for both Tom Kilgore and Bill Johnson.  Prior to that assignment, he led the TVA Washington office as director of government relations for six years. He joined the Washington office as senior manager of Federal Affairs in June 2002. In both roles, Justin led TVA's interactions with the Administration, congressional staff, industry groups and trade associations.  He also advised the TVA board on matters pertaining to these stakeholders and helped foster strategic alliances with other organizations and associations whose interests and activities are similar to those of TVA.

Prior to joining TVA, Maierhofer was a congressional affairs liaison at the Department of Energy.  A native of Carrollton, Georgia, he moved to Washington, D.C. in 1996 and began his career by working for the late United States Senator Paul Coverdell of Georgia.

He has a Master's Degree in Political Management from George Washington University and B.S./B.A.degree in History from Florida State University.
