Executive Exchange to the 6th African Rift Geothermal Conference and Pre-Conference Short Course

The 6th African Rift Geothermal Conference (ARGeo C-6) will take place at the United Nations Conference Center in Addis Ababa Ethiopia from October 31st, 2016 to November 4th, 2016. Organized by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the aim of this biennial conference is to promote regional cooperation, create an information exchange platform on the exploration, development, investment and utilization of the geothermal resources in the region and elsewhere in the world.

It is against this backdrop that UNEP, through the ARGeo Project, requested the USAID-Power Africa Initiative to support and collaborate in organization of a two-day short course in conjunction with its biennial geothermal conference. This short course will bring together lecturers and high level experts from Burundi, Comoros, the DRC, Djibouti, Eritrea, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, and the United States. The short course is aimed at enhancing and optimizing the knowledge and expertise of decision makers and directors from public and private entities in order to enhance development of geothermal energy resource in the region.
