USEA was founded in 1924 as the U.S. Member Committee to the World Energy Council, we have pursued a core mission “to promote the sustainable supply and use of energy for the greatest benefit of all.” USEA is in its 100th year of existence as a nonprofit. It is an association of public and private energy-related organizations, corporations, and government agencies. USEA represents the broad interests of the U.S. energy sector by increasing the understanding of energy issues, both domestically and internationally. It is the only U.S. energy organization that represents all energy subsectors.
The intent of the USEA History Timeline is to provide the public with easy access to accurate information about the history of USEA and its predecessor agencies. The timeline includes links to reports, speeches, old, archived pictures, and other documentation.
