As the U.S. economy moves toward clean energy and a lower carbon future, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is seeking to partner with states, communities, and industries to support the procurement and development of carbon conversion products. These efforts have been enabled by provisions included in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL).

Jackie Gerst is the VP of Storage for Carbonvert, focused on the technical aspects of carbon programs.  Jackie has over 15 years of experience in CCS, ranging from technical project work to managing DOE funded programs and regulatory issues.  She has significant CO2 injection permitting experience, participating in numerous submittals.  Before joining Carbonvert, Jackie served as the Energy Division Manager for Battelle, a multi-billion dollar R&D firm where she led a team of ~50 on CCS and energy work.  Jackie received both her Masters in Geology and Bachelors in Applied Physics and Geology from Rensselaer Polytechnical Institute.

He is a Fellow in the Risk and Insurance Management Society, winner of the inaugural RIMS Ambassador award, five-time Risk and Insurance Magazine Power Broker, and has presented more than thirty times at the annual Risk and Insurance Management Society annual conference.

He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and a retired navy commander whose service included engineering operations and commanding officer tours.  He is a certified naval nuclear chief engineer and holds an MBA in finance and fifteen risk management designations.

Adam Seitchik is the Commercial Chief Geologist for Battelle Carbon Services. He leads a diverse team of geoscientists, reservoir engineers, and specialists and is responsible for all subsurface evaluations for carbon sequestration. Prior to coming to Battelle, he worked in the Oil and Gas industry for more than 20 years in both leadership and technical roles. During this time, he gained technical experience in various offshore basins around the world, developing a thorough understanding of the requirements necessary to mature and deliver technical projects. From this experience, Adam is implementing best practices to ensure the highest technical standards are met.

Gary Price was appointed Chief Risk Officer of Battelle in October 2021. Gary will oversee our Enterprise Risk Management process, along with providing oversight and experience in the area of risk related to major company initiatives, business pursuits and complex transactions.
Prior to joining Battelle, Gary was most recently PricewaterhouseCoopers’ (PwC) US Partner Affairs Leader and Chief Administrative Officer (since 2014). In this capacity, Gary was responsible for all partner-related matters. As a member of the US Leadership Team, Gary’s responsibilities also included executing firm strategy and aiding in the firm’s digital transformation.
Gary joined PwC in 1983 and spent his career advising clients in both the firm’s Assurance and Advisory practices and has advised clients from across many industries and sectors, including: transportation; manufacturing; retail and consumer; financial services; and energy and utilities.
Gary is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. Gary received his undergraduate degree in 1983 from The Ohio State University.

James Mackey leads the team responsible for investing in real assets that recycle and store greenhouse gas emissions from large industrial facilities.  Before joining Climate Investments, James was Senior Vice President of Finance for Apex Clean Energy, a leading developer of wind and solar generation facilities in North America.  He was previously Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for NextEra Energy Resources and has held senior commercial roles with Dynegy, J.P. Morgan and Duke Energy.  James holds an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and a BA in Economics from Trinity College.
