In this  installment of USEA's Energy Management webinar series hosted by USAID's Bureau for Development, Democracy, and Innovation (DDI), we were pleased to host experts from NREL, CAISO and XM. Joining from NREL was Omar Guerra, a research engineer within the Grid Planning and Analysis Center; from CAISO Guillermo Bautista, Director, Market Analysis and Forecasting, and from XM, Jaime Alonso Castillo Marin joined from the planning office .  Together they discussed:

+ Role of the aggregator and the distribution system operator (DSO)
     • Interaction among these players, including, possible conflicts of interest if operating in multiple roles,
     • Interaction between DSO and bulk markets
+ ISO role in DSO market
+ How to incorporate DERs in ISO planning, modeling, scheduling and operations

En esta edición de la serie de seminarios web sobre gestión de la energía de USEA, fue organizado por la Oficina de Desarrollo, Democracia e Innovación (DDI) de USAID, y tuvimos el placer de recibir a expertos de NREL, CAISO y XM. Por parte de NREL participó Omar Guerra, ingeniero de investigación del Grid Planning and Analysis Center; de CAISO, Guillermo Bautista, director de análisis y previsión de mercados, yde XM, Jaime Alonso Castillo Marín, de la oficina de planificación.  Juntos debatieron sobre:

+ Rol del agregador y del operador del sistema de distribución (DSO)
     - Interacción entre estos actores, incluyendo, posibles conflictos de intereses si operan en múltiples roles,
     - Interacción entre el DSO y los mercados 
+ Rol de ISO en el mercado DSO
+ Cómo incorporar los DER a la planificación, modelización, programación y operaciones de la ISO.
