The Government of Tanzania has ambitious plans for increasing access to electricity, improving power reliability, and expanding use of domestic resources including natural gas and renewable energy.  The Tanzania Electric Supply Company  (TANESCO) figures prominently in these plans to add generation capacity, expand and improve the transmission grid and the distribution network. TANESCO’s Managing Director will share information about the improvements that TANESCO has made to date in its distribution operations, the projects expected to come online soon, and the company’s vision for longer-term growth and improvement.  Many of these projects are supported by USEA with USAID and Power Africa Initiative funding.
