Albert (Al) J. Williams, 52, is vice president of Corporate Affairs for Chevron Corporation, a position he assumed in March 2021. He is responsible for overseeing government affairs, public affairs, social investment and performance, and the company’s worldwide efforts to protect and enhance its reputation.

Previously, Williams served as managing director of Chevron Australia with responsibility for Chevron's interests and activities in Australia and New Zealand since 2019. Williams had oversight of Chevron’s exploration, appraisal and development activities and the operations of the Gorgon and Wheatstone natural gas facilities as well as government, partner, and community relations.

Williams was vice president, San Joaquin Valley Business Unit for Chevron North America Exploration and Production Company (CNAEP) where he was responsible for Chevron's oil and gas production operations in California.

With more than 30 years of service, Williams has served in several leadership positions with increasing responsibilities including president, Chevron Pipe Line Company; vice president, Chevron Indonesia Heavy Oil Operations; asset manager, Chevron Thailand and general manager finance, Chevron Africa and Latin America Exploration and Production Company.

Since joining Chevron in 1991 as an electrical facilities engineer, Al’s experience has encompassed Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream – including assignments in Thailand, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Australia, and multiple locations in the United States.

Dr. Nathan Johnson is an Associate Professor in The Polytechnic School of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University. Research to commercialization efforts emphasize grid modernization, microgrids, off-grid solutions, critical infrastructure, and workforce development. Before joining ASU, Dr. Johnson completed product development and business development across 15 countries. His globally focused work continues in sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East, and East Asia.

Paola Hartung Martínez currently serves as the Director of Regulatory Affairs of AES Gener, a generation company with presence in Chile, Argentina and Colombia. AES Gener is the second largest generation company in Chile in terms of installed capacity and the first in terms of generation for the past 4 years. 

Prior to joining AES, she served as Regulatory Affairs Manager of Enel Generation Chile, with a 7,000 MW portfolio. Previously, she worked at Enel Green Power Chile, Peru and Colombia, where she oversaw the Regulation and Stakeholder Management, and she performed as Transmission and Connections Deputy Manager for that region.

She worked for 3 years at the Chilean Grid Operator of the North System of Chile, as Advisor to the Executive Director, as Head of the Technical and Regulatory Management Area, and also as Secretary of the Board.

Paola also has experience in the public sector. She began her professional career in the Electrical Department of the National Commission of Energy, of the Ministry of Energy.

Throughout her career, Paola has actively participated in the Chilean Energy Transition, both in the materialization of the first 1,200 MW of large renewable energy plants in Chile and another 340 MW in Peru, as well as boost the development and growth of the transmission system required by the Chilean and Colombian electrical systems, in order to enable the growing penetration of wind and solar energy from areas with high availability of renewable resources.

On the other hand, she has worked proactively in the regulatory adaptation to incorporate new technologies, at the legislative, regulatory, normative and technical levels. Currently, she promotes and collaborates with initiatives that seek to include energy storage systems in the electricity markets of Chile and Colombia, as a driver for the diversification of energy matrices, and as a tool for making the operation of electrical systems more flexible, and the most important goal to reach the early decarbonization of the chilean electrical sector.

Paola currently serves as Vice President of the Chilean Association of Renewable Energy and Storage (ACERA) and as Director of the Chilean Association of Energy Law and Regulation (ADEREN). She was a professor at the School of Electrical Engineering of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso for three years.

She is a Civil Electrical Engineer with a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering (c) from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso.

He previously served as the Vice President of Integrated Grid research for EPRI's Power Delivery and Utilization sector. McGranaghan has led EPRI research in the smart grid and grid modernization area for years, and he has helped define research on existing power quality levels in the U.S.

McGranaghan has authored more than 70 technical papers and articles on topics ranging from power quality to insulation coordination of extra high-voltage (EHV) systems; He received the coveted Charles Proteus Steinmetz Award in 2014 for his expertise and dedication to power engineering standards development.

"Mark McGranaghan's contributions have established the foundation for several advancements in the improvement of electric power delivery quality and reliability over the last 25 years," EPRI Board Chairman Pedro Pizarro said. Prior to joining EPRI, McGranaghan was Vice President at Electrotek Concepts (1988-2003) and a Manager at McGraw-Edison/Cooper Power in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania (1978-1988). In both of those roles, McGranaghan worked closely with EPRI on numerous research projects.
