Felix Boehmer holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Energy Technology from Ruhr University Bochum, as well as a Master of Business Administration. During his engineering studies, he focused on the Carbon Dioxide Plume Geothermal (CPG) concept, investigating its potential as a sustainable energy solution.

He continued this work at Siemens Energy, where he led the development of the CO₂-based geothermal concept. Between 2022 and 2023, he successfully managed a real-field proof of concept for CO₂-based geothermal power, demonstrating the strong thermosiphon effect of CO₂. In 2025, he founded Factor2 Energy, a spin-off from Siemens Energy, with the mission to commercialize CO₂-based geothermal energy systems.
