Jack Andreasen Cavanaugh is a Global Fellow at the Center on Global Energy Policy's Carbon Management Research Initiative. Previously he worked at Breakthrough Energy leading Carbon Management Policy and Advocacy. He served on the White House Task Force for the Responsible Deployment of Carbon Capture and Sequestration and sits on the DAC Advisory Council.

Jay Thompson has managed multiple teams of Government Affairs professionals who have represented Chevron’s interests before a wide range of U.S. and foreign government officials as well as with a variety of trade and business associations. He also coordinates the Washington office’s work on sanctions policy as well as international trade and investment issues. He currently serves on the Industry Trace Advisory Committee for Energy and Energy Services – a formal advisory body to the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Office of the United States Trade Representative. He also serves on the board of directors of the United States Council for International Business. From 2013 to 2014, he was based in Kyiv, Ukraine, where he recruited and managed Chevron Ukraine’s Policy, Government and Public Affairs team. Jay joined Chevron in January 2012, after having served as an International Trade Specialist at the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he focused on market access issues facing U.S. companies in Russia from 2007 through 2011. Previously, he worked on energy sector issues at the law firm of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. Early in his career, Jay worked for U.S. Senator Sam Nunn (D, GA), both in his personal staff and on the staff of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
