USEA President & CEO Participates in Atlantic Council Panel on Energy Security
Washington, DC—USEA President & CEO Mark Menezes participated in the panel “Energy Security Amid Shifting Geopolitics” at the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Forum on Wednesday, June 18.
Recent geopolitical tensions are significantly impacting global energy security. Russia's targeting of Ukrainian energy infrastructure, coupled with instability in the Middle East and actions by Iran, are creating volatility in oil and gas markets and revealing the fragility of global energy flows. Simultaneously, China's dominance in clean energy manufacturing is fundamentally reshaping the landscape of energy security.
“The global energy landscape is undergoing a profound transformation due to increased demand and geopolitical tensions. As we navigate through this period of uncertainty, proactive investments in resilient energy infrastructure are crucial,” Said USEA President & CEO Mark Menezes. “Given its role as the number oil and natural gas producer in the world, the United States stands by and is ready to step up to ensure that global energy supply remains strong to ensure global economic security.”
The panel was also composed of the following participants and moderated by Julia Nesheiwat, Distinguished Fellow, Atlantic Council Global Energy Center and Vice President of Policy and Insights, TC Energy:
