On August 1-2, 2012, the Asia Pacific Energy Regulatory (APER) Forum took place at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission office. This meeting was the third of its kind, convening energy regulators from North America and the Asia-Pacific region together to share experiences and best practices for energy regulation. Discussion ranged from an overview of regulatory frameworks, grid reliability, integration of renewable resources to existing and future electricity networks, oil and gas pipeline regulation, carbon trading and competition within energy markets.

TURKMENGAZ OFFICIALS EXAMINE ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES IN HOUSTON, ALBERQUERQUE AND FARMINGTON, NEW MEXICO FROM NOVEMBER 1-11, 2011 

A two week technical exchange visit organized by the U.S. Department of Energy and United States Energy Association with support from the U.S Environmental Protection Agency and private corporate sponsorship  featured the participation of five senior officials from the Turkmenistan Ministry of Oil and Gas.

A one week roadshow organized by the United States Energy Association and the Government of Turkey sparked strong interest in Turkey’s burgeoning power sector among American equipment manufacturers, project developers and financiers. 

With stops in New York, Houston and San Francisco the roadshow was tailored to accentuate opportunities for U.S. companies created by Turkey’s projected eight percent annual increase in electric power demand.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – To advance Jordan’s ambitious goal of connecting up to 1,800 MW of renewable energy power plants by 2020 to their transmission system, senior engineers and support services executives from Jordan’s National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) received guidance from their counterparts at Arizona Public Service (APS). These meetings occurred from October 2-6, 2011 as a part of U.S.-Jordan Electric Power Transmission Partnership Program, an ongoing project supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Jordan Mission.
