EAGP Geothermal Policy & Finance Exchange Program
The U.S.-East Africa Geothermal Partnership Program (EAGP) hosted two delegates from East Africa in Washington, DC on an Executive Exchange focusing on geothermal finance and policy issues. The exchange was held in conjunction with the Geothermal Energy Association’s (GEA) International Geothermal Showcase and a GEA-US Department of State workshop on geothermal best practices. Additional meetings with U.S. government agencies and private-sector players were scheduled for the delegates throughout the week. The exchange offered the two participants from Kenya and Ethiopia excellent opportunities to engage directly with U.S. government agencies and U.S. geothermal companies, and to learn about geothermal development best practices, risk mitigation, policy and financing.
