USEA Applauds LPO Loan Closing to Restart Nuclear Plant

Washington, DC—United States Energy Association President & CEO Mark Menezes today issued the following statement commending the Department of Energy’s closing of a $1 billion LPO loan to Constellation for the 835 MW Crane Clean Energy Center restart in Pennsylvania:

“This action will go a long way to expand America’s nuclear capacity by reinvigorating the industrial base, and securing our domestic energy supply,” Menezes said. “By providing affordable and reliable carbon-free power to the PJM interconnection, this will strengthen grid stability, create jobs, and advance energy security.”
