Dr. Will Pettitt is Executive Director of Geothermal Rising, formarlly Geothermal Resources Council (GRC). Geothermal Rising is a non-profit professional association that was established in the U.S.A. in 1972 and today has over 1200 members in 44 countries. Geothermal Rising  supports and promotes geothermal energy to a wide audience of government, industry, academia and the general public, through communication of robust research, knowledge and guidance. WASHINGTON, D.C. – To advance Jordan’s ambitious goal of connecting up to 1,800 MW of renewable energy power plants by 2020 to their transmission system, senior engineers and support services executives from Jordan’s National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) received guidance from their counterparts at Arizona Public Service (APS). These meetings occurred from October 2-6, 2011 as a part of U.S.-Jordan Electric Power Transmission Partnership Program, an ongoing project supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Jordan Mission.

Andrew W. Palmateer serves as Senior Advisor to the U.S. Energy Association (USEA).  As a Program Director, he previously managed the U.S. – East Africa Geothermal Partnership (EAGP), the Asia EDGE Indo-Pacific Energy Market Investment and Modernization program (EMIM), and the Promoting International Consensus on Oil and Natural Gas program (Consensus Oil and Gas).  EAGP was a public-private partnership between the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the implementing partner, USEA.  EAGP  sought to promote the development of geothermal energy resources and projects in East Africa, while facilitating the involvement of the U.S. geothermal industry in the region.  EMIM was a program funded by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Energy Resources that sought to promote the development of transparent, free energy markets in the Indo-Pacific to encourage investment in and development of the region's energy sector.  Consensus Oil and Gas was a public-private partnership promoting cooperation between governments and industry for the development of secure, reliable and economic sources of oil and natural gas while facilitating investment in the energy industry.

Andrew has a track record of implementing successful international energy partnerships throughout Africa, Asia and the Middle East with a focus on sustainable resource development, utility sector privatization, and integrating clean energy projects into the electric grid.  In his roles with USEA, Andrew collaborated with U.S. Government agencies, the international donor community, public sector stakeholders, and private sector stakeholders to promote the sustainable development and use of global energy resources.  Andrew holds a degree in International Economic Relations from American University.

In June 2020, Sheryl Osiene-Riggs was named President and CEO of the Utilities Technology Council (UTC). UTC is a Washington, D.C.-based global trade association that represents electric, gas and water utilities on their mission-critical information and communications technologies. Sheryl joined UTC in 2017 and rose through its senior management ranks, serving previously as interim president and CEO, senior vice president of finance and operations, and director of accounting and administration.

Sheryl’s professional journey spans more than 20 years and began with an interest in financial sciences that expanded into a passion for the broad spectrum of operations. Prior to joining UTC, Sheryl held roles of progressive responsibility in the areas of finance, accounting, human resources, compliance and overall operations. She served in organizations in the banking/finance, education, and health and social services industries, as well as federal and state government entities and nonprofits. Among her previous positions are auditor for the University of Texas System; senior accountant for a public accounting firm; controller for the Salvation Army and CFO for the largest mental health provider in Maryland.

Demonstrating not only acumen with numbers, but more importantly, connection with people, Sheryl prioritizes service to others. She is certified as a registered IRS tax professional and partners with colleagues to provide volunteer tax preparation services and financial literacy education. Sheryl developed her community commitment at Howard University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in International Business with a Minor in Accounting. In addition, she obtained two post-graduate degrees -- a Master of Science in Accounting and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management.

The Brooklyn, New York native has cultural roots that spread to Alabama and Nigeria. She is married and enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike, three daughters and her bonus children, and precocious canine members of the family, Hershey and Honey.
