The 18th U.S. - China Oil & Gas Industry Forum was held September 18 - 20, 2018 in  Houston, TX, USA. The U.S. - China Oil & Gas Industry Forum (OGIF) is a public-private partnership involving government and industry representatives from the United States and China. The Forum enables the two countries to meet common goals, including development of secure, reliable and economic sources of oil and natural gas, while facilitating investment in the energy industry.

Mrs. Rebecca Miano holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with Honours, a diploma in Law and Post-graduate studies in Comparative Law. She is a registered Certified Public Secretary of Kenya and is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK) and the Law Society of Kenya (LSK). Mrs. Rebecca Miano was appointed the Acting Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of KenGen with effect from 26th August 2017. She was appointed the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer on 30th October 2017. She has been the Company Secretary and Legal Affairs Director since 2008. She is a respectable lawyer with a career in law and corporate governance. She has been responsible for driving the corporate governance agenda in the Company, providing guidance and support to the Board and has been the Secretary to the Board and all its Committees.

Mrs. Miano is responsible for the operational running of the Company to ensure that the mission is achieved and efficacy of the business optimized. The CEO is accountable for the company’s actions, security of resources as well as ensuring the execution of the corporate strategy for long-term competitiveness. In addition to representing the management position on the Board, The MD & CEO chairs and supervises the Executive Committee (ExCo) comprising nine divisional directors.

Preceding his appointment in December 2015, Hon. Charles Keter was the Senator for Kericho County and Deputy Leader of Majority in Senate from 2013 till 2015. During his 13 year career in politics, Hon. Keter was also the Assistant Minister for Energy and Petroleum between 2008 and 2010 and a Member of Parliament for Belgut Constituency, which was rated the best in (CDF) Constituency Development Fund management in the year 2012.

His Political career was preceded by nine years of experience in the Telecommunications Sector, with expertise in Information Technology, Systems Analysis and Anti-fraud, as assistant manager of Anti Fraud Section, Telkom (K) limited.

Hon. Charles Keter holds a Global Executive MBA from the United States International University (USIU) – Africa and a Bachelors Degree in Double Maths from Kenyatta University.

Jeffrey Bobeck is a Senior Advisor fof the Carbon Capture Coalition at the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions, bringing three decades of policy and strategic communications experience.

Mr. Bobeck’s government experience includes serving on the staffs of two senior U.S. House members, where he contributed to major tax and international trade legislation and served as an official observer to the negotiations to end the war in El Salvador. In 2006, President George W. Bush appointed him Director of External Affairs for the U.S. Department of Energy, where he served as the second-ranking White House-appointed official in DOE’s $6 billion-annual Environmental Management program.

In the private sector, Mr. Bobeck served as Director of External Liaison with the American Automobile Manufacturers, where he focused on international harmonization of automotive environmental and safety regulations. He testified annually before Congress on the implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and later helped to manage the auto industry’s North American environmental sustainability coalition, which was authorized by NAFTA’s environmental side agreement. He later served as the lead North American policy manager for the Global Carbon Capture Institute.

Jeff has contributed numerous op-eds to publications such as the Washington Post and New York Times, appeared on national news outlets including CNN and NPR, and is a frequent speaker at energy and environmental policy conferences.
