USEA chief congratulates member, Tellurian Inc.

Washington, D.C. — On Friday, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission moved one more hurdle for Houston-based Tellurian’s proposed liquefied natural gas export facility on the U.S. Gulf Coast and its associated pipeline.

The regulatory agency issued a final Environmental Impact Statement for Driftwood LNG, which would export 27.6 million tons of LNG annually, and Driftwood project, the associated 96-mile pipeline near Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Minaxi Garg graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1983 from Delhi College of Engineering, New Delhi. After a brief stint with an architectural company, she joined India’s Oil & Natural Gas Commission in 1984. Thereafter, in 1987, she joined National Thermal Power Corporation and worked at 2000 MW Power Plant at Singrauli, UP.

 

Ms. Garg joined Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID), which is presently the world’s third largest Power Company, in 1991. In different capacities, she gained expertise in domestic and international competitive bidding under funding from various multilateral funding agencies.

 

Ms. Garg began working at the  National Load Despatch Centre in April 2008 at its formative stage and in the 10 years plus experience have been actively associated with the framing of regulations and their implementation on the Indian Electricity Grid Code, Forecasting, Scheduling and Imbalance settlement of wind & solar, Power Market, Inter State Open Access, Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), provisions for vRE, Renewable Energy Management Centre, Deviation Settlement Mechanism, Ancillary Services, etc. and subsequent amendments, and  also activities under Forum of Load Despatchers (FOLD).

 

Presently, in the capacity of Chief General Manager, she is in charge of the Renewables Energy Sources, Corporate Planning, C&M Department at NLDC, Power System Operation Corporation (POSOCO) as well as Secretary, FOLD and Coordinator of Integrated Management System. She is also responsible for capacity building of personnel in Load Despatch Centres including State Load Despatch Centres under Greening the Grid Project & Green Energy Corridor Schemes in areas related to increased penetration of renewable energy in the energy mix, RECs and Energy Saving Certificates Scheme.

 

She is a certified basic system operator and regulatory specialist.
