Mateo Jaramillo is co-founder and CEO of Form Energy. He was formerly Vice President of Products and Programs for Tesla’s stationary energy storage program, an effort he started. Mateo joined Tesla in 2009 as the Director of Powertrain Business Development, serving as commercial lead on over $100M in new development and $500M in production contracts signed for electric powertrain sales. Prior to Tesla, Mateo was Chief Operating Officer and part of the founding team at Gaia Power Technologies, a pioneering distributed energy storage firm.

Mateo serves on the Board of Directors for the American Clean Power Association, the leading federation of renewable energy companies expediting the advancement of clean energy as the dominant power source in America. Mateo earned his A.B. in Economics from Harvard and a Masters in Theology from Yale Divinity School.

Roger Miksad is the President and Executive Director of Battery Council International, a trade association formed in 1924 to advance the North American battery industry. He joined BCI in 2020, and today leads the association in representing its members’ interests. Mr. Miksad leads BCI’s regulatory and legislative strategy and engagement on all matters, including occupational safety and health, sustainability and environmental issues, government investment, legislative relations, and other matters. Mr. Miksad served as BCI’s outside legal counsel from 2009 as a Partner at the law firm of Wiley Rein LLP, where he also represented other chemical and consumer products industries. A graduate of Virginia Tech University, Mr. Miksad holds a Juris Doctor from Washington & Lee University. Mr. Miksad also serves as President of the American Battery Research Group, a subsidiary of BCI that provides pre-competitive research consortium management services.

Julia is a strategic executive with over 20 years of expertise in the energy and environmental sectors as a coalition builder and advocate. She is a longtime advocate of clean energy technologies, working extensively to support global environment and equitable policies. 

As CEO of the Long Duration Energy Storage Council, an executive-led global nonprofit organization with more than 60 members operating in 20 countries, Julia leads strategic planning and market and policy development activities to rapidly deploy and scale long duration energy storage to support the clean energy transition worldwide. Most recently, Julia served as the Executive Director of the Long Duration Energy Storage Association of California (LDESAC). While there, she led the education and outreach of emerging and existing long duration energy storage developers, focusing on its importance to grid reliability and meeting climate goals.

Previously she founded and was president of a strategic consulting company, JAS Energies, which focused on bringing inclusive, diverse, and equitable transitions and policies into fruition. She provided a deep understanding of challenges facing the US electricity sector in reducing carbon emissions, building renewable energy projects, creating markets, and implementing a clean energy vision. Previously, Julia was a Director at the The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), focused on market and energy policy creation and implementation, creating coalitions and interpreted real-time grid operations and transmission planning.

Julia’s prior roles include senior positions at Clean Line Energy Partners, North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

Julia holds two BAs from Oregon State University in Political Science and International Relations, and an MPA in Policy Implementation from The University of Southern California. She currently lives in San Francisco with her two children.

Jen has over 17 years of experience providing assurance and advisory services and executing and leading audits of both private and large multinational organizations and SEC registrants primarily in the Chemicals & Specialty Materials Industry. Jen has led her engagement teams, serving one of Deloitte’s largest clients, through the deployment of Deloitte’s innovative audit tools which resulted in value for the client while creating efficiencies and increasing overall audit quality. Jen’s focus in providing assurance services to large public companies has included accounting advisory, auditing of financial statements, preparing and delivering audit committee and management communications, addressing independence requirements and regulatory matters, and environmental, social and governance reporting.

Jen is a leader in Deloitte’s Sustainability and ESG service practice. She is the Energy, Resource, & Industrials Audit & Assurance Sustainability Leader and the Energy and Chemicals ESG sector leader. She has experience providing our largest clients with ESG Regulatory readiness including the SEC proposed Climate Rule, EU Regulations, and the California Act. Jen also has experience providing ESG assurance readiness and limited assurance engagements.

Jen has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration from Central Michigan University. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Michigan.

Dr. Haman is a Senior Manager in Deloitte’s Sustainability & ESG Services team with more than 10 years of professional experience. Her experience includes developing corporate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventories (scopes 1-3), compulsory US EPA GHG reporting, decarbonization strategy, assessing physical and transition climate risk, CDP Climate Change reporting, state and federal air regulatory compliance and permitting, and air pollutant dispersion modeling. She has experience across a variety of industries such as the chemical, fertilizer, LNG export, logistics/trucking, lime, natural gas distribution sectors, real estate, and food/beverage.

Dr. Haman received her Bachelor’s in Geography from Louisiana State University, Mater’s in Meteorology from The Florida State University, and Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from University of Houston.

The utilization of qualified carbon oxide for Section 45Q tax credit (26 CFR 1.45Q-4(b)) requires a lifecycle analysis (LCA) be completed to determine the amount of qualified carbon oxides that were either “captured and permanently isolated from the atmosphere” or “displaced from being emitted into the atmosphere” through use of an eligible utilization process.
