USEA Executive Chairperson Vicky Bailey Selected As WCEE 2020 Champion

Bailey To Be Honored At Virtual Event On October 15

Washington, D.C. – At today’s meeting of the USEA Board of Directors Executive Committee, Acting Executive Director Sheila Hollis recognized USEA Executive Chairperson Vicky Bailey for her selection as 2020 Champion by the Women’s Council on Energy & the Environment (WCEE).

The Champion Award was created in 1998 to recognize the importance of mentors for women professionals and to honor those individuals who have championed the advancement of women in the energy and environmental arenas.

Bailey will be honored at WCEE’s 39th Annual Woman of the Year Awards on October 15. She will be presented with her award at the evening’s Virtual Gala, where she will provide formal remarks. The event celebrates her success as an exemplary energy leader and her commitment to the professional development of women.

“The USEA Board is extraordinarily fortunate to be led by Vicky Bailey. Her significant leadership in the private, public, and non-profit sectors contribute enormously to the fulfillment of USEA’s mission during a challenging time for the world, as well as our organization,” Hollis said.

“USEA has been a strong supporter of WCEE for many years and is proud of our flourishing institutional relationship. Through our Women In Energy series, USEA has highlighted exemplary women leaders, who are often inter-related with the WCEE community.

“We have initiated joint USEA-WCEE briefings that weave both organizations closely together. Furthermore, USEA staff are leaders in WCEE and contribute to its programming.

“We are especially thrilled that this long-standing relationship now culminates in Vicky being recognized for her many accomplishments, her well-respected expertise, and for being at the forefront of exemplary support and friendship to women in the energy field.”

Ms. Bailey has over thirty years of high-level national, international, corporate, and government experience in energy.

A former Commissioner at both the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, Bailey was the first Assistant Secretary for International Affairs and Domestic Policy at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Previously, she served as President and CEO of PSI Energy, Inc., now Duke Indiana, Indiana’s largest electric utility.

Bailey is the founder of Anderson Stratton International, LLC and serves on several corporate and non-profit Boards, including the Battelle Memorial Institute of Columbus, Ohio.
