A majority of power outages occur on electrical distribution systems, affecting a large swath of the national economy, public health, and well-being.  Microgrids, due to their designed operations to enable continuous power delivery in the face of grid outages, have seen early adoption by local communities, commercial/industrial facilities, campuses and institutions, and utilities. To accelerate their widespread adoption, the DOE Microgrid R&D Program has undertaken grid integration R&D to further the microgrid value streams that can be realized both within the microgrid service territory and beyond to provide valued services for the interconnected grid.  This presentation will highlight the ongoing DOE microgrid activities for enhanced grid reliability and resilience.
