Strategies for Intelligence Integration: Connections Between Digitalization and Cybersecurity

This is the first in the series of USAID webinars on Digitalization and Cybersecurity in the Energy Sector hosted by E3.

Our presenters will lead us into the critically important discussion on the benefits of digitization of the electrical grid operations and provide benefits to both utilities and consumers. However, focusing on digitalization without sufficient focus on cybersecurity can inadvertently result in increased vulnerabilities that utilities will need to mitigate that may outweigh the anticipated benefits. Digitalization and cybersecurity cannot be done separately, with cybersecurity as an afterthought.

Participants will get answers to the following questions:

1. What values does digitalization serve?

2. What is the grid and how does digitalization affect it?

3. How to manage the risks of adding intelligence to power grids?

This webinar will be recorded and posted on the USEA website. If you have any questions, please email Jake Swanson at [email protected].
