USEA Congratulates S.C. Governor Haley on her nomination to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Energy Association Executive Director, Barry Worthington, a group chairman within the U.N. Economic Commission for Europe, issued the following statement congratulating South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley on her nomination to become the next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
“President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Governor Haley reflects sound judgment. USEA expects a smooth road to her confirmation and looks forward to working with Ambassador Haley.
“A U.N. ambassador needs to be a proven diplomat, someone who can work artfully, to represent the interests of the United States, someone who can understand diverse perspectives, and someone who is wise on budgetary matters.
“Governor Haley is that diplomat. She is reasoned and has proven as much in South Carolina where she has propelled the state into economic prosperity and into the international limelight.
“What she has done in South Carolina, she can do for our country on the world stage.
“USEA offers itself as a resource to Governor Haley in her efforts as U.N ambassador and wishes her much luck.”
