Biography: 
Brett W. Huber, Sr. was appointed January 9, 2023, by Governor Dunleavy to serve as Commissioner and Chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. Mr. Huber has nearly 30 years of public policy and oil and gas industry experience and holds the dedicated public seat on the three-member panel. Mr. Huber first moved to Alaska from Colorado in search of outdoor adventure and career opportunity in 1984. In addition to professional positions and business ventures in the private sector, Brett has three decades of experience in public policy with a focus on natural resources - specifically oil and gas. Commencing in 1994, Huber held various staff leadership positions with the Alaska Legislature, many with a focus on oil and gas, land, fish, and wildlife issues. Since 2018, Huber worked for the Dunleavy Administration, where he served as the Governor’s Senior Policy Advisor, Policy Director, and Communications Director along with other duties. Chairman Huber’s service on the mayor’s committee brings with it access to the highly experienced professional staff of petroleum geologists and engineers at his agency.
