The Cybersecurity and Digitalization webinar series is a two part training launched in June 2020 to educate utilities on cyber standards, trends, and best practices. The first 15-webinar training series reached over 4,200 participants from 70 utilities in 68 different countries. Following the success of the webinar series, USEA and USAID hosted industry panels with leading cybersecurity experts to discuss the latest cybersecurity trends, tools, and technologies.

The webinar series and panels were the foundation for the Business Innovation Partnership (BIP) that convened a global network of utility thought leaders to assist USAID-partner utilities to navigate some of the most pressing challenges within a rapidly changing industry.

Energetics Incorporated under the guidance of USEA and USAID, developed an Electricity Sector Cybersecurity and Digitalization Handbook based on the Cybersecurity and Digitalization webinar series.

This Electricity Sector Cybersecurity and Digitalization Handbook provides a comprehensive introduction to the cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and risks that power sector utilities face. Click here to view the handbook.

The second phase of cybersecurity training began in December 2023 and focuses on supply chain cybersecurity. This ten-part series is aimed at giving USAID partner-country utilities, policy-makers, and regulators a clear panorama of the relevance of cybersecurity within the electricity sector, including how to mitigate supply chain risks and monitor third-party vendor access. To register for the latest webinar, click here.
