Russell Stokes is the president and chief executive officer of GE Power and a senior vice president of GE.  As a world energy leader, GE Power provides technology, solutions and services across the entire energy value chain from the point of generation to consumption. As a 20-year GE veteran, Russell has a wide range of GE leadership experience in addition to his deep industry, company and customer knowledge. He also served as the president and chief executive officer of GE Transportation, a global leader in rail, mining and marine industries.

Russell has also held numerous leadership positions in finance, operations and services within GE Transportation, GE Aviation and GE Lighting. He started his career in sales for a PC manufacturer before joining GE.

In addition to his executive leadership, Russell plays an active role in the Atlanta community. He is a member of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee, the Atlanta Committee for Progress, Usher’s New Look Board, the Atlanta Junior Achievement Executive Committee, and the board of The Commerce Club, Atlanta, GA. Russell graduated from Cleveland State University with a degree in

finance and completed GE’s Financial Management Program.

Charles Patton is executive vice president, External Affairs for AEP. In this role, he leads AEP’s customer services, communications, regulatory, federal public policy and corporate sustainability organizations.

Prior to his current responsibilities, Patton served in numerous executive positions throughout his tenure with AEP. He has been the president and chief operating officer of two AEP subsidiaries: Appalachian Power, serving approximately one million customers in West Virginia, Virginia and Tennessee; and AEP Texas, serving over one million in South and West Texas. Other roles at AEP have included executive vice president, AEP Utilities West and senior vice president, Regulatory and Public Policy.

During his tenure in Texas, Patton was appointed by Texas Gov. George Bush to serve on the Texas Energy Coordination Council and the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission. Later, Gov. Rick Perry appointed Patton to the Texas Energy Planning Council, which was established to advise the governor on energy matters.

While leading Appalachian Power, Patton was appointed by Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe to the governor’s Environmental Sustainability Committee and by West Virginia Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin to chair the governor’s Committee on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

In 2014, he was appointed to a three-year term as director of the Fifth District Federal Reserve Bank, in Richmond, Va. In this position, he chaired the Federal Reserve's Information Technology Committee, which coordinated IT services for the entire Federal Reserve System. He currently serves on the board of Sterling Construction, a large engineering and construction company located in Houston.

Throughout his career, Patton has served and chaired numerous professional and civic organizations in the communities in which he has lived. Today, he serves on the boards of the National Association of Manufacturers, Center for Workforce Development and the Columbus YMCA. At AEP, he is an executive sponsor of the African-American Employee Resource Group (AAERG).

He is a graduate of Bowdoin College, located in Brunswick, Maine, and holds a graduate degree from The University of Texas LBJ School of Public Policy. He is married with two adult children.

First U.S. LNG cargos head to India, a game changer for global energy security, USEA chief says

Houston— Today, USEA-member Cheniere Energy Inc. will send its first shipment of U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) to India through its Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Louisiana.

Stephen is currently the Vice President - Corporate Policy for the American Petroleum Institute.  His responsibilities cover coordination and managing cross segment policy issues such as climate, tax, trade, operational security and emergency response issues.   Stephen has been with API for over 16 years in a number of roles.  Prior to API, Stephen was a tax attorney with ExxonMobil in their Tax Department and provided planning advice for various projects in their Upstream, Downstream and Chemical operations.  He is currently an adjunct professor at Georgetown Law School and was formerly chair of the Energy and Environmental Taxes Committee of the American Bar Association’s Tax Section.  He received a BA from the University of Texas and a JD from George Washington University.
