The United States Energy Association (USEA), in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management (FECM), held a workshop on Measurement, Monitoring and Controlling Potential Environmental Impacts from the Installation of Point Source Capture at the Southern Company Energy Center. The workshop was held on June 8, 2023 from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm and preceded by a site visit to the National Carbon Capture Center in the afternoon of June 7, 2023.

The purpose of this workshop consisted of the following:

The United States Energy Association is inviting prospective organizations or individuals through this Request for Proposal (RFP) to submit proposals for developing a Webinar Series and a Handbook on Cybersecurity and Digitalization for the Electricity Sector. 

Proposals are due by 17:00 hours EST of the closing date.  Please submit all proposals with a read receipt to Ms. Marina N. Barnett, Program Manager, at mbarnett@usea.org. Proposals must be in digital format (PDF).

He has more than 18 years of experience in the national and international energy sector and has worked in the Enel Group since 2008 performing in various technical and management units in Chile and in Latin America. He was Solar Generation Manager for Enel Green Power Chile and is currently the Thermal Generation Manager for Enel Generación Chile implementing new technology under a just energy transition strategy.

Natalia Correa is an engineer and a Fulbright Alumni with an MAB from Texas A&M University. Currently serving as Head of Sustainable Ecosystem at Enel Chile, she is leading several sustainability initiatives with a special focus on implementing a circular economy and its business models in the energy sector to empower sustainable progress. She is also co-founder of the Women Innovation Lab, an initiative where more than 200 women collaborate on closing the gap of gender equity in the sector. Likewise serves as Director of Becarius for Impact which seeks to promote the advancement of youth education in Chile.

Energy development is the key driver to economic development in Indian Country.  Energy infrastructure development is needed all over our Nation to drive the energy evolution (what we call the energy transition) but is most pressing in our Indian communities, primarily in the Western United States.  We need unique and community-based solutions to help drive the energy evolution in Indian Country.  The Great Northern Corridor is one example of how we can accomplish the goal of bringing a just and equitable energy evolution to Indian Country.
