Washington, DC— On Thursday, President Trump announced that his administration would renegotiate U.S. obligations under the Paris Agreement.
In a statement, USEA Executive Director, Barry Worthington, said:

“USEA supports a clean energy economy, and we work to advance clean energy technologies, such as carbon capture and sequestration, which can reduce carbon emissions and meet global climate goals.

Zagreb, Croatia— The U.S. Energy Association, through a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) supported project, has structured a landmark agreement among 7 transmission system operators (TSOs) in 7 countries in Southeast Europe to work together on planning, expanding and potentially interconnecting natural gas pipeline infrastructure.

The countries will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on May 16 in Zagreb under which they agree to develop network planning models, share pipeline network data, equipment information and other technical details.

Chicago—An energy policy that boosts all forms of energy development, not just renewable energy, is key to meeting the growing global energy demand and advancing carbon capture and utilization projects, U.S. Energy Association (USEA) Executive Director Barry Worthington told stakeholders at the Electric Power 2017 conference in Chicago on Tuesday.

After the White House signed a new Executive Order on Tuesday reversing President Obama’s climate policies, USEA Executive Director Barry Worthington appeared on Fox Business with Trish Regan to discuss the regulation of the energy industry. In the 20 years of the Clean Power Plan, three administrations enacted eight regulations. In the eight years of his presidency, President Obama enacted 56.

In April delegates from 171 delegates, including the US and China, signed the Paris climate agreement at UN headquarters in New York. The agreement is to limit the rise in global temperatures to less than 2C.

USEA Executive Director, Barry Worthington, tells BBC journalist, Roger Harrabin, not to worry that environmental goals will fall by the wayside under the Trump administration. Worthington says industry is motivated to reduce emissions without the need for legislation or regulation.

The United States Department of Energy (USDOE), funded by Power Africa, collaborated with the United States Energy Association (USEA) to convene a group of natural gas experts to write a handbook on natural gas and LNG project  development for African countries. Under the guidance of the USDOE and USEA, the participants spent five intensive days collaborating using the Book Sprint method to complete an LNG handbook. Their commitment and consistent participation was essential to the success of the “Understanding Natural Gas and LNG Options” handbook.
