Cybersecurity and Digitalization for the Electricity Sector - Handbook Launch Event

As energy systems continue to advance technologically, they have become increasingly vulnerable to cyber-attacks. In response to this threat, USEA partnered with USAID to share some key tools and resources to improve cybersecurity in the energy sector. This effort culminated in a series of cybersecurity webinars, launched in June 2020, aimed at the utility sector of USAID partner countries working on this issue, or looking at how to get started. Following this 15 webinar series, we added 2 industry panels, and most recently, a handbook, based on the webinars, that identifies an overview of what is available, what is necessary, identifying free resources, potential solutions, and ideas on how to get started.

This webinar aims to give an overview of what the handbook offers and how to use it, as well as share some of the specific parts of the handbook that might be a good starting point for cybersecurity efforts. We will also be looking at how the handbook might be useful for different levels of a utility. Two of our series presenters will briefly present some highlights of how their utilities have implemented cybersecurity initiatives and some of their recommendations with respect to the handbook as well.

This webinar will be recorded and posted on the USEA website. If you have any questions, please email Jake Swanson at [email protected].
