Tim Watkins graduated with a Master of Science in Administration (MSA) in leadership from Central Michigan University in 2010. In 2004, Tim was selected to attend the US Army’s Telecommunications Systems Engineering Course located at Fort Gordon. Following 20 years of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) experience in information technology, weapon systems, communications infrastructure planning, cybersecurity, and leading US Marines, Tim joined Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) as an application engineer in 2013. He was later promoted to lead application engineer in 2017. His background includes building and securing communication networks in austere environments for combat operations and holistically reducing risk to utility customer around the world. Tim focuses on system solutions that increase cyber visibility allowing customers to detect, mitigate, and respond to events within their control systems. His efforts reduce risk, increase resilience, and mature SEL’s best practices.
