Pat Reiten
Patrick Reiten, 62, is senior vice president, public policy at Berkshire Hathaway Energy. Reiten is responsible for leading the national policy and legislative work of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, a $134 billion portfolio of locally managed businesses that share a vision for a secure and sustainable energy future.
Reiten is a seasoned energy executive who has served as president and CEO of PacifiCorp Transmission and Pacific Power, both at PacifiCorp, joining the company in September 2006. Before becoming part of Berkshire Hathaway Energy’s team, Reiten was president and CEO of PNGC Power, an energy cooperative located in Portland, Oregon.
In his early career, Reiten was an aide to U.S. Sen. Mark O. Hatfield, with responsibilities including issues before the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. He also served as an official in several different capacities at the U.S. Department of Interior, including acting as deputy director of the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.
Reiten has served in many director or board leadership roles in community and industry groups. He is currently a director of Legacy Health System, the Oregon Community Foundation, and the American Council on Renewable Energy. He also represents Berkshire Hathaway Energy on the board of Electric Transmission Texas LLC.
