David R. Dunning

Biography: 

Dave Dunning serves as Fluor Corporation’s group president for Business Development and Strategy where he leads the company’s sales, marketing, communications, government relations and corporate strategy functions across all Fluor business groups.

Previously, Dunning served as the president of Fluor’s Power Group where he was responsible for the company’s activities in the global nuclear generation, renewable, environmental compliance, O&M and fossil fueled industries.  In prior roles, he also led sales, marketing and strategic planning for Fluor’s global Power business. He has more than 38 years of direct power industry experience including 35 years of service with Fluor.

During his tenure with Fluor, Dunning has served in numerous executive and leadership roles within operations and sales and marketing, including as senior vice president for sales, marketing and strategic planning for the Duke/Fluor Daniel partnership; sales director for Fluor’s Operations & Maintenance division; sales director for the Northeast region, and sales manager for Fluor’s East Coast sales. 

Dunning served his first 10 years in the nuclear power industry including positions in engineering, field supervision, quality inspection and quality assurance at the Susquehanna Nuclear Power Plant in Pennsylvania and at the Callaway Nuclear Power Plant in Missouri.

Active in a variety of organizations, Dunning serves as the chairman for Fluor’s Corporate Sales Board, is on the Board of Directors for USEA, Board of Directors for NuScale Power and on the Advisory Board for Schneider Electric North America.

Dunning holds a B.S. from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania and has completed executive education training programs at Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
