Mollah M Amzad Hossain has been working in Bangladesh’s media since 1982. During his long 38 years of experience in journalism, he has been publishing and editing the country’s first and only energy sector magazine ‘Energy & Power’, begun in 2003. Before bringing out his own publication, he worked with different newspapers of the country. 

Mr. Mollah developed his expertise on the energy sector though having initial reporting command over diverse fields like trade and business, environment, politics, and aviation. He has covered several international and regional events on energy, trade and business. He also has attended different international conferences and meetings as a resource person and a panelist, and in some cases, presented papers on the energy sector.

Mr. Mollah is often invited to take part in TV talk shows as an energy and environment analyst. His special interest is in the fields of media, communication, energy, environment, IT, travel, reading, and community development.

When he was an undergraduate student at the University of Rajshahi, Mr. Mollah was actively involved in student politics, apart from social and cultural activities. He received his Masters in Bengali literature from the University of Rajshahi.

Tim Daiss is the Founder of APAC Energy Consultancy and is an Energy Markets Columnist for Asia Times Financial. Tanvi Madhusudanan is a Country Manager for the Indo-Pacific Region at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). In this role, she is responsible for business development and project preparation, management and supervision of USTDA activities in the region, with a focus on the energy and water and environment sectors.

Before her current role as a Country Manager, Ms. Madhusudanan was a Research Analyst for the Indo-Pacific team at USTDA. Prior to USTDA, she has served in various positions in the international development space including as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Republic of Moldova, where she taught English and helped develop a student-centered English language curriculum, and the U.S. Department of State.

Ms. Madhusudanan holds an M.A. in International Affairs and Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a B.A. in International Relations and Psychology from Knox College.

Before becoming CEO in 2018, she served as PGE’s senior vice president of Power Supply, Operations and Resource Strategy. In that role, she oversaw PGE’s transition to the Western Energy Imbalance Market, a foundational step in creating a regional smart grid. She joined PGE in 2009 as the company’s chief financial officer.

As CEO, Pope leads PGE’s strategy to create clean, affordable energy Oregon customers expect, while keeping reliability and resiliency at the forefront of the company’s planning efforts.

Prior to PGE, Pope was CFO of Mentor Graphics Corporation. She has also held senior operating and finance positions within the forest products and consumer products industries. Pope began her career in banking with Morgan Stanley.

Pope serves on the Oregon Global Warming Commission. Her other board and commission activities include The Nature Conservancy, Electric Power Research Institute and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Pope is an alumna of the Stanford Graduate School of Business and earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University.

Biography

Joseph Fiksel joined Ohio State in 2005 as co-founder of the multidisciplinary Center for Resilience, which is now integrated into the Sustainability Institute at Ohio State. Previously he had a varied career in private industry, including contract research and management consulting. Most recently he was Vice President for Life Cycle Management at Battelle, where his clients included global consortia, leading multi-national companies, and Federal government agencies. From 2010 to 2014, he took a leave from Ohio State to serve as Special Assistant for Sustainability at the U.S. EPA.

Expertise

Joseph has gained an international reputation for his expertise in environmental risk management, sustainable design strategies, supply chain resilience, and complex systems modeling. Joseph holds a B.Sc. from M.I.T., a Ph.D. in Operations Research from Stanford University, and an advanced degree in applied mathematics from La Sorbonne, University of Paris. Currently he is a Visiting Scholar at The George Washington University in Washington, DC, where he offers an online course in Enterprise Resilience.
