POSITION: Program Coordinator - Membership
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

SUPERVISOR: Program Manager
This position has primary responsibility for coordinating USEA’s General Membership program. The successful candidate will be an energetic self-starter with strong problem-solving skills. The position also demands collegiality, flexibility and teamwork skills. The program coordinator will design and implement tactics and strategies aimed at retaining current members and acquiring new members; assists with other annual giving programs as applicable.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Spearheads yearly membership targets to help meet or exceed budget goals.
- Coordinates membership recruitment, retention, and renewal efforts.
- Strategizes with the President to develop membership promotions and materials and assists with execution of member events.
- Responsible for initial new member communication.
- Answers inquiries by e-mail, regular mail and telephone; provides follow-up as necessary; logs all calls—from response to resolution—in membership software application.
- Handles appropriate administrative duties for the department, including filing and following up with communications to members.
- Assists with recruitment of potential members by attending and presenting membership opportunities at corporate events.
- Attends and staffs, as part of a broader Development Team, events and functions throughout the year.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required by supervisor or the President.
- Is able to perform duties in the USEA office in Washington DC.
RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to the Program Manager.
- Interacts regularly with members and potential donors to ensure membership maintenance and satisfaction.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2 years of administrative support experience required. Experience coordinating a membership program for a charitable non-profit organization preferred.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES AND ABILITIES
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with marketing efforts and promotions preferred.
- Proficiency in membership software or platforms for managing membership databases and generating reports.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- PAY RANGE IN WASHINGTON, DC
- Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
BASE SALARY
- $52,000 - $84,000
- 35-hour work week (5 days/week; 7 hours/day)
