USEA President & CEO Mark Menezes Honored to be Named to Fusion Commission

Washington, D.C.—USEA President & CEO Mark Menezes today issued the following statement ahead of the Commission on the Scaling of Fusion Energy’s inaugural meeting, on which he serves:

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve on this critical commission that aims to utilize the public and private sector in an effort to maximize the deployment of fusion energy, setting the stage for large-scale domestic power generation,” Menezes said. “I look forward to working with the exceptional energy leaders on this team, including Co-Chairs Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA), Senator Jim Risch (R-ID), and Special Competitive Studies Project President & CEO Ylli Bajraktari as we aim to win the fusion race.”

The Commission on the Scaling of Fusion Energy is an effort to align government, academia, and industry around a shared vision for the deployment of fusion energy to secure America’s position in the energy transition. The findings are to be published in 2025.
