USEA’s Worthington tells Fox Business that Exxon CEO, Rex Tillerson, is a sound choice for State
WASHINGTON, D.C. — During an interview on Fox Business Tuesday, U.S. Energy Association Executive Director, Barry Worthington, said Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson, would make a great Secretary of State.
Worthington told Trish Regan on the Fox Business Network’s The Intelligence Report that Tillerson’s accomplishments, experience working around the world building one of the most successful companies, have prepared him to become the country’s top diplomat.
In a statement released after his appearance on the show, Worthington said,
“President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Rex Tillerson reflects a balanced decision.
“The Secretary of State must be a proven diplomat, someone who can work across countries and cultures to create strong economies and prosperity.
“Mr. Tillerson has done that. He has built a global business, and he has proven himself to be driven, yet measured, someone who understands our role in a global economy
“He received the United States Energy Award this year for preeminent energy leadership and contributions to international understanding of energy issues.
“Mr. Tillerson is a very capable leader whose motivation is not rooted in politics, but in growth across global economies
“USEA offers itself as a resource to Mr.Tillerson and wishes him much luck in in his confirmation process.
