Kenneth Lobo Mendez

Biography: 

Kenneth Lobo Mendez is the Director of Planning and Sustainability at the Instituto Costarricense de Electridad (ICE), where he is responsible for planning Costa Rica's generation and transmission systems, as well as ICE’s distribution network. He is also in charge of developing mechanisms and actions to ensure the sustainability and continuity of ICE’s electricity business. Mr. Lobo has over 17 years of experience working at ICE, having begun his career there focusing on issues related to the Central American Electrical Interconnection System Project (SIEPAC). Later, he worked on coordinating the construction process of transmission lines and executing pre-investment studies for electricity generation projects.  Mr. Lobo holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Costa Rica, a master's degree in energy (specializing in renewable energy) from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain, and a master's degree in business administration from the Costa Rican Institute of Technology.
