Brian Kooiman is a Senior Associate at The Ad Hoc Group. Brian incorporates his experience with regulated markets, electricity systems, demand response, energy storage, zero-emission vehicles, and gamification to develop client strategies for product and regulatory engagement.

Prior to joining The Ad Hoc Group, Brian was an Experts Market Analyst on OhmConnect's Market Development and Operations team. At OhmConnect, Brian had responsibilities that included regulatory advocacy, partnership building, revenue origination, and energy market operations. In his time with OhmConnect, Brian saw the company user base grow from thousands to hundreds of thousands of customers all participating in demand response.

Brian received his Master of Public Policy (MPP) with a focus on Resources, Environment, and Energy from Stanford University. Brian also attended Stanford University as an undergraduate, where he double-majored in Civil Engineering and Economics. Brian lives in Minnesota with his wife and two daughters.
