Biography: 

Dawa Chhoedron works for the Royal Government of Bhutan as the Chief Engineer in Power Systems and Market Division under the Department of Energy in the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. She also serves on the board of Bhutan Automation.

She has over 18 years of work experience and her areas of expertise lies in energy policy, strategy and planning, energy systems oversight, cross-border trade of electricity and markets, energy data analytics and greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory reporting. As part of the United Nations Framework Convention of Climate Change - UNFCCC’s team of technical experts (TTE), she also contributes to technical analyses/technical review of Bienniel Update Reports (BURs), National Communications (NCs), and GHG inventories of Parties to the Convention.

She holds a Master of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) degree from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia and Bachelor of Technology (Electrical Engineering) degree from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, India.
