Biography: 
Erik Mason 

leads Nikola’s Energy Supply and Trading division, bringing together world class talent with deep experience across energy commodities and logistics to build out the hydrogen value chain required to fuel the next generation of Class 8 trucks. In addition, Erik was recently announced as the Founding Chairman of the Clean Hydrogen Future Coalition leveraging his commercial insight to help develop collaboration between industry and government to support market development. 

Mr. Mason’s career started in banking over 20 years ago before moving to work directly in the energy market with BP Energy Company in 2006. He has worked across all energy commodities developing diverse experience in financing, structuring, risk management, logistics and project management.  He served as Managing Director Global Structured Products Americas over the last 6 years where he focused on large, structured commodity transactions, advancing low carbon opportunities such as the development of BP’s hydrogen supply strategy. 

Erik received his degree in international business and finance from the University of Lethbridge and is a CFA Charterholder. He and his wife Rachel have four children.  Erik is an outdoor enthusiast and has passion for creating a better environment for future generations.
