The Clean Hydrogen Future Coalition (CHFC) formed to support federal clean hydrogen policies that will stimulate the adoption of clean hydrogen in the U.S. and enable the country to achieve national decarbonization objectives while increasing U.S. global competitiveness. The CHFC will discuss how and why its diverse membership came together in support of these mission objectives, and what it sees as objectives going forward.

Applications for Clean Hydrogen

With its ability to be used as a fuel source, an industrial feedstock, or to produce and store electricity, clean hydrogen will have a critical role in accelerating decarbonization across all sectors of our economy, each of which are represented by CHFC members. This panel discussion will focus on the various methods by which clean hydrogen can be produced and utilized in a clean hydrogen economy.

Scaling clean hydrogen will provide an opportunity to transition existing – and create new – skilled, high wage jobs needed to support the energy transition. CHFC members in the labor community will discuss their perspective on the role of clean hydrogen in the energy transition and what it means for union jobs.

Policy Needs to Scale Clean Hydrogen

The Biden administration has identified decarbonized hydrogen as an important component of its American Jobs Plan, and several Congressional leaders have developed or introduced legislation supporting the production of clean hydrogen.  This session will review what policy proposals currently exist and highlight policy concepts that CHFC members have identified as most beneficial to support clean hydrogen.
