Biography: 

Häly Laasme is currently the State of Delaware’s Energy Assistance Director. In June 2022, she also started as a Bloomberg Fellow at John Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health, focusing on Environmental Challenges. She serves on the Governance Board of NEUAC and previously served on the Board of Directors of NEADA from 2016 to 2023 as well as on the Executive Committee of the Energy Services Coalition from 2020 to 2022. In 2021, she was among the Top 500 Global Sustainability Thought Leaders and she became a referee for the peer-reviewed Energy Journal administered by the IAEE. She advocates for increasing transparency in methodologies used for energy access indicators, energy access to be included in the human rights framework, and increasing global collaboration in energy justice. If the schedule allows, she enjoys participating in the World Women’s Forum for Economy and Society that advocates for transforming the power of women’s voices and perspectives into forward-thinking economic and policy initiatives for societal change.
