Jón Örn is a partner at Reykjavik Geothermal and serves as Country Manager to Ethiopia. He has over the last decade been focusing on greenfield Geothermal Development projects in East Africa and Asia and has as such Jón Örn has successfully managed various projects related to the first steps of greenfield development, such as ESG compliance, surface exploration, resource modelling, licensing, legal and contracting. Jón Örn is responsible for the successful application, negotiation, project management and completion of several grant funded projects with combined value of close to 9 MUSD, funded by EU, AUC and NDF. Jón Örn has a M.Sc. degree in Sustainable Energy and Business from Reykjavik Energy Graduate School of Sustainable Systems, a Master’s in Project Management (MPM) from the University of Iceland and a B.Sc. in Hotel Management from the University of Stavanger, Norway.
