Maria Dunn

Chief Governance Officer
Phillips 66

Maria is the chief governance officer for public policy issues, sustainability strategy and environmental-social-governance (ESG) engagement.  Recently, she co-chaired the permitting section of Dynamic Delivery, a National Petroleum Council study on major energy infrastructure projects needed in 2040.

Maria leads the company’s disclosures and outreach on ESG.  She has a passion for finding and connecting people and resources to solve business and social problems with her expertise in managing technical and legal matters.  Through her collaboration, Maria has negotiated the Phillips 66 human rights position, analyzed and managed corporate risk and established international data privacy governance.

While a lawyer for ConocoPhillips and Phillips Petroleum Company, she managed matters ranging from M&A, commercial, midstream and marketing operations, to litigation, procurement and information technology.  Maria practiced civil and criminal law in Illinois following a federal clerkship.

A graduate of University of Illinois law school and Boston College, Maria’s home is Houston, Texas, with her husband.  She has two increasingly-adult children.

When she is not listening to and talking with stakeholders, Maria can be found in a yoga class, gardening or reading a good book.
