Shri Satpal Garg joined as a member of PNGRB on July 27, 2017. He graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Delhi in 1976.  Shri Garg is a Fellow Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Fellow Company Secretary from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, and Associate Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

Before joining PNGRB, Shri Satpal Garg gained 36 years of professional experience in domestic and international exploration and production. His last assignment, before joining PNGRB, was as Director Finance, ONGC Videsh Limited from September 2008 to August 2016.  He also held the additional role of Managing Director, ONGC Videsh Limited from March 2014 to August 2014.

As Director (Finance) of ONGC Videsh, Shri Garg made significant contributions in streamlining and strengthening internal controls, accounting systems, budgetary control, acquisition & business development activities in the company and was instrumental in raising funds both in the domestic & international markets. In recognition of his achievements, he was given the Best CFO Award by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 2015. Shri Garg has also served on the boards of many subsidiaries of ONGC Videsh Limited as Chairman/ Director during his stint as Director (Finance) of ONGC Videsh Limited.
