Mr. DiStasio has led SMUD as the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer from 2008-2014 and has worked at SMUD in various capacities since 1981. Under Mr. DiStasio’s leadership, SMUD developed a sustainable power supply that was 24% renewable energy and 47% carbon-free while maintaining rates amongst the lowest in California. SMUD has also been rated number one in California in residential customer satisfaction by JD Power and Associates for the past eleven years and achieved the highest score ever recorded in the industry in 2007.
