John Lemire

Biography: 

John Lemire is Director of Grid Management at North Carolina Electric Membership Corporation (NCEMC), the power supply organization serving North Carolina’s electric cooperatives.  John is responsible for implementing the N.C. electric cooperatives’ Distribution Operator framework within its aggregation and management platform.  John is also responsible for the integration and implementation of edge-of-grid technology programs including energy efficiency, energy storage, solar and microgrids - all key initiatives in how the cooperatives are building a brighter future for their members.  John served as project manager for the Butler Farms Microgrid, an innovative agricultural microgrid project located at a sustainability-focused hog farm in Lillington, N.C.

John joined NCEMC in 2012 and has more than 17 years of electric utility experience including transmission planning and system operations.  Prior to joining NCEMC, John worked for Duke Energy Progress.  He has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from N.C. State University and an MBA from Liberty University.
