Rich Delpizzo has over 35 years’ experience working in ship design, construction, operations, technical review, regulatory requirements application, and defense acquisition.  He is currently a Director for ABS Global Government and serves as the main point of contact for the ABS Washington DC office.  He chairs the Ship’s Machinery Committee for the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) and serves on their Council.  He is currently Chair of the SNAME Chesapeake Section and was honored as a Fellow in 2017.  He has led professional development efforts for the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) since 2015 and is the 2021 recipient of ASNE’s Frank Law Award. Rich is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and served in the U.S. Navy Reserve, retiring in 2012 with the rank of Captain
