Biography: 
Mr. White is a Sr. Research Engineer in the Propulsion and Energy Machinery section at Southwest Research Institute and is interested in product development, process improvement, mechanical design, and prototype testing. He joined SwRI in November 2016 and specializes in mechanical design and testing.
In his previous work, Mr. White was the lead engineer on multiple projects dealing with product line expansion as well as product packaging. He has been a member of many different multidisciplinary engineering teams, as well as managing a team of engineers.
Mr. White has experience with mechanical design, rotordynamics, hardware and instrumentation specifications for test stands, as well as operating hardware test stands. He also has significant experience in computer-aided design (CAD) doing advanced surfacing in PTC Creo and product modeling in SOLIDWORKS®. He has experience with ANSYS® Workbench™ and APDL on various projects in order to conduct stress analysis and thermal/fluid simulations.
His recent project experience includes design, analysis, and testing of rotating detonation engine (RDE) hardware, a 1MW oxy combustion loop in sCO2, lighter-than-air airship hardware, launch vehicle test stand, and a clean-sheet compressor design.
